Area residents will have an opportunity to take advantage of a low cost fasting blood test, and at the same time, contribute to local scholarship programs. On Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wood County Hospital, in conjunction with the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, will be offering a comprehensive 12-hour fasting blood test, which will show a variety of blood levels including blood sugar, HDL cholesterol, electrolytes, kidney and liver function. Optional additional tests include a PSA test for prostate cancer and a TSH thyroid test, as well as blood pressure checks.
The Blood Analysis Program is being offered for the ninth year through a partnership between Wood County Hospital, the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, and the Wood County Hospital Foundation. Proceeds from the event are designated to support the organizations’ scholarship programs for area students who plan to or are currently attending Bowling Green State University.
Cost of the program is $40 for the Chamber of Commerce investors and $50 for non-Chamber investors. The optional tests cost $20 for the PSA and $20 for the TSH. A light breakfast will be provided following the test.
